Things I love...

I read this blog and a couple of days ago she wrote about things she does not like, which really got me thinking about all of the things I don't like.  I try to be a positive person, but it really kind of made me feel good to think about some things that I just really do not like.
For instance:
  1. Living in Alabama in the SUMMER (or anywhere in the deep south for that matter)
  2. Health insurance
  3. Slow drivers in the left lane
  4. Headaches
  5. Barking dogs
  6. Sick babies
  7. Throw up: this should probably be #1 on my list.
  8. Growing up and realizing that life isn't as wonderful as you thought
  9. Being pregnant.  I am SO thankful to be blessed with a baby, but I have to be honest, being pregnant is SO not fun.  And I have 25 weeks to go.
  10. Living away from friends and family
  11. Grandparents aging
Well, today she wrote about things she does like, so I thought it only fitting that I list all of the things I like: (in no particular order) ;)
  1. Six month old babies in footed sleepers (hahaha! I know it sounds weird, but at that age it is precious!)
  2. When Tucker tells me, "You're the best momma in the whole wide world."
  3. Traveling with my dad
  4. Alone time with my mom
  5. Alabama football games
  6. Laying on the beach
  7. Swimming pools
  8. Spending time with old friends
  9. Jackson Hole, Wyoming
  10. Being creative
  11. My husband
  12. Mexican food
  13. When my sister comes home
  14. Christmas
  15. Baking
  16. When Cameron leaves in the morning and Tucker runs after him screaming, "Daddy wait, I forgot you a kiss!" and then walks away and remembers, "Daddy wait, I forgot you a hug!"
  17. The first days of Spring and Fall
The "I like" list was a lot more fun than the "don't like" list.  Although it felt really good to get it out!  Y'all should try it, it's fun!  And there are lots more things that I love and I am thankful for, like JESUS, for instance!  I really want to start a bucket list...maybe that will be an upcoming blog.  I know you'll all be sitting on pins and needles to read another list from me ;).

Aunt Alye...

I made this for Alye (she loves peacocks).  It turned out pretty cute!  I didn't get a very good picture of it, but I want to go ahead and send it to her, so this one will have to do!  We Skyped for the first time the other night and it was so much fun!  I can't believe we're just now doing it, but it will be really great when the new baby gets here!  I can't wait to see her again in "real life." ;)

Future Photographer??

Tucker is interested in my camera, of course, all children want to play with cameras.  So one weekend I decided why not let him play with it- honestly, I was tired of hearing him ask- but he ended up doing a really good job!  Here are some of his best "works of art."

He wanted me to hold a Dr. Pepper can because it has Ironman on it.

What's left of the FIVE gallon bucket full of apples from the farm.  Which, by the way, I used to bake an apple cake AND apple cobbler!

This one is my favorite.  His favorite gun and a bullet.  Don't you love the composition?!  Hahaha!

Follow up to last post...

This happened yesterday when we got home from the grocery store.  Before I could get in the house with my first load of groceries, I saw this through the corner of my eye...
Oh how I love him :)

Baking Cookies

So, I'm trying to do some indoor activities (since it is a million degrees outside) to keep T busy and away from the TV!  Today I decided we'd bake cookies.  Not the healthiest snack, but fun and good!  I used a new recipe from Southern Living that was SO easy and SO good, by the way!  He loved helping.  I let him use the mixer for the first time- which "scared" him, so he resorted to the spoon.  We ended up taking Daddy and Granddaddy lunch to work and they were lucky enough to get freshly baked cookies for dessert!  By the way...that is a "super hero cape" tied around his neck.  (It helps him to run faster and save people)

Little boys...

I've always been a "girly-girl."  I always thought I would grow up and have little girls to dress up like my mom did me.  But when I was pregnant with Tucker, I knew he was a boy.   I am now 13 weeks, 3 days pregnant with baby #2 and anxiously awaiting the day we find out "what" we are having!  I would love to have a little girl to "dress up," I think everybody would love to have one of each.  It would be great to experience the differences in raising boys and girls.  But then something happens like in the picture above, or he pulls down his pants in the front yard to tee-tee (hilarious) and I think...okay, I could totally do this again!  This precious little boy that I have learned so much from and loves his momma so much is JUST what I always wanted and always needed!  So I am more than happy with pink or blue!  Just thankful for the opportunity to have another angel just like Tucker!

Western and Last Day

Today was Tucker's last day at school.  Coincidentally, it was "Western Day."  Which is perfect, because other than Batman, Tucker would love to be a cowboy.  Since he has been a cowboy several times before, we had a lot to pull from!  It is SO hot, though, so we had to skip the jeans and boots!  And his teacher was sad to see him go, but I don't think he really understands that he won't be back.  This ought to be interesting...just the two of us together every day- all day!!

The pool...and skittles...

I took this yesterday at the pool.  He is laying down while eating skittles.
It's so exhausting that he can't sit up to eat skittles?!

4th of July

We went to the beach for the 4th of July with Courtney, Lauren, and Addy; and Jennifer, Wes, and Cooper.  We had such a great time!  We stayed at The Indies on Fort Morgan Road in a really nice condo.  It's so fun that we went to the beach together in college and now we're going together with our families!  This is my favorite picture...how difficult is it to get everyone to look at the camera??  I mean I understand that the kids won't, but we couldn't even get the Daddies to!

Carrie!!

Cameron and I went to the Carrie Underwood concert last month at the BJCC.  It was a great show.  Cameron wasn't originally supposed to go, but when plans changed for Alye, he had to go with me.  I don't think he minded, since he has a bit of a crush on her!  This is one of the best pictures I got.  She flew around the arena in this truck, so everyone got a to see her pretty close.

Toy Story 3

Tucker, my mom, and I went to see Toy Story 3 yesterday.  It was super cute!  Tucker loves to go to the "big movie show."  He sat perfectly still the whole time...with M&Ms and popcorn, of course!  I think we may try to go to some of the free movies they offer throughout the summer.  It's a great activity, especially when it is SO hot outside.

At home....

Well, I no longer have a job...which is a good and bad thing, I guess. I'm happy to be home with Tucker, but of course nervous about how everything is going to work financially. Anyway, I've got a little more time on my hands now, so I thought I'd document what we do through this blog. Seems like a good way to keep up with what's going on with our family...most of it will probably be pretty boring!
